Sept. 19, 2019

  • Under deck piping and pressure tested
  • Back fill for pool deck 20 percent complete
  • Temporary electric service installed
  • Landscape meeting with garden clubs, awaiting proposal
  • Zero-entry spray features installed
  • Skimmers installed
  • State inspection on Sept. 19. Last state inspection until final when pool is operable

Sept. 12, 2019

  • Pool walls complete with light cannisters
  • Pool slabs 85 percent. Two remaining due to ADA handrail pending delivery
  • Shade structure sleeve installed
  • Underdeck inlet piping complete and approved by all required inspections
  • Pool bench with in-pool light complete
  • Pump pit and walls complete

Sept. 5, 2019

  • Leisure section slabs complete
  • Zero-entry footer poured, 30 percent of slabs poured
  • All inlets in zero-entry piped and readied for concrete. Pressure test complete.
  • Electrician inspected site and began mobilizing. Pool light canisters to be installed Sept. 6
  • Pool aggregate complete

Aug. 29, 2019

  • Deep end slabs and leisure slabs completed
  • Pool walls 50 percent complete. Only walls pending are those with lights
  • Data requested from Entergy regarding transformer service provided
  • Electrical subcontractor obtained. Arnold Blevins Electric out of Little Rock

Aug. 22, 2019

  • Six pool bottom slabs complete
  • Pool wall footers complete
  • Eighty percent of under drain complete
  • Eighty percent of pool aggregate complete

Aug. 15, 2019

  • Main drain box concrete complete
  • Main drain installed
  • Under drain 50 percent complete
  • Under pool aggregate 30 percent complete
  • Bathhouse footer complete
  • Monthly construction meeting completed
  • Two pool bottom slabs formed for pour on Aug. 16, 2019
  • Meeting with Entergy to determine transformer solutions

Aug. 8, 2019

  • Footers of bathhouse formed, inspected by P&I
  • Obtained clarification from state concerning inspections mandated in approval letter
  • Main drain box formed and bounded
  • State approval received for bonding fo the main drain box
  • All pool and bathhouse excavation complete
  • Walkway through construction area for DeSoto Recreation Area from DeSoto Club parking completed

Aug. 1, 2019

  • Fire Depratment, Public Works and Public Utilities signed off on Arkansas Department of Health approved constructions plans
  • Permit was submitted to the Architectural Control Committee for construction permit
  • Permit was issued by the Architectural Control Committee for outdoor pool construction
  • Bathhouse earthwork completed and soil samples approved
  • Large excavator on site and earthwork for pool layout was dug
  • Notice to Proceed provided to Carrothers Construction

July 16, 2019

A ground breaking ceremony attended by local dignitaries was held at the site of the pool.

Breaking ground at the ceremony were, from left, former Recreation Committee Chair Dave Gati, Board Director Buddy Dixon, Board Director Nancy Luehring, Board Chair Cindi Erickson, Recreation Committee Chair Donna Aylward, CEO Lesley Nalley, General Superintendent for Carrothers Construction Randy Floberg, Project Superintendent for Carrothers Construction Oscar Garza, Executive Vice President for Carrothers Construction Fritz Casper, Project Manager for Carrothers Construction Cherie Worden, Lifestyle and Outdoor Recreation Manager and Project Manager for Hot Springs Village Charlie Brown and Recreation Director Stacy Hoover. Hoover (bottom photo) also emceed the event.

Earlier in 2019

  • The Construction Agreement between Hot Springs Village Property Owners’ Association and Carrothers Construction Inc. was executed in April
  • The Notice to Proceed was provided to the Carrothers Construction Inc for final plan creation and submission to the Arkansas Department of Health
  • The Hot Springs Village Board of Directors approved the Outdoor Pool Replacement at their March 2019 meeting
