Cortez Golf Club is known as the shot maker’s course. You don’t have to have a long drive, but you’d better hit the landing area to avoid trouble. It’s a beautiful course winding its way across rolling hills through hickory, oak and pine trees and alongside sparkling water. The elevation changes and water hazards provide plenty of challenges, but five sets of tees accommodate most players.
Many consider No. 10 as one of the toughest holes in the Village. It’s a 425-yard par 4 with a downhill slope before going back up to an elevated green. Designed by Ault, Clark & Associates, Cortez has one of the most photographed scenes in the Village – the picturesque view of a mountain peak from the No. 17 tee.
Cortez features a golf shop, driving range, putting green and Putterz Sports Bar and Grill. Greens are made of SRT 1020 Bent grass, and fairways are Hybrid Bermuda grass.
