Balboa Golf - Hole Details

Hole 1 “Straight and True”

A long par 5 that rewards accuracy. Keep every shot in the fairway to avoid the water left and the slope right that can quickly turn a good hole into trouble.

Hole 2 “Temptation Creek”

Big hitters may be tempted to drive this par 4, but a creek crosses in front of the green. Safer play is short of the hazard, setting up a wedge to an open but guarded green.

Hole 3 “Left is Right”

Favor the left side both off the tee and on approach to this challenging par 4. Trouble lurks right over the hill and in the back-right bunker.

Hole 4 “Right-Angle Risk”

A sharp dogleg right par 5 that rewards strategy over power. Overcut the corner and you’re in the woods—lay up smartly to avoid fairway and greenside bunkers.

Hole 5 “Hidden Traps”

This par 3 demands precision with bunkers front, back, and hidden right of the green. Even a small miss can find sand, so accuracy is everything.

Hole 6 “Thread the Needle”

A straightforward par 4 if you hit it straight. Trees and creeks guard both sides, but an approach from the left side avoids the front-right bunker.

Hole 7 “Fair and Square”

Another straight par 4 bordered by a creek on the right. The green is open front and back, but bunkers left and right make placement key.

Hole 8 “Deceptively Tough”

This par 3 plays harder than it looks from the elevated tee. You’ll need precise distance and control to avoid bunkers and tricky terrain surrounding the green.

Hole 9 “Balboa’s Grand Finale”

A long, demanding finishing hole where strategy rules. Big hitters can aim over the right bunker, while shorter players should favor the left side—water and bunkers guard nearly every miss around the green.

Hole 10 “Two Roads to Glory”

A short par 5 offering two routes to the green. The right fairway provides the easier, longer path, while the left fairway is shorter but riskier, requiring precise shots over the creek.

Hole 11 “Stay in the Center Lane“

This long par 4 demands accuracy with out-of-bounds on both sides. A straight drive and solid long iron to a deep green will set up a good chance at par.

Hole 12 “Trouble Around the Turn”

A dogleg par 4 with a hidden creek left and water along the right. The best approach is from the right side to avoid the front-left bunker.

Hole 13 “Downhill Delicacy”

This par 3 features bunkers guarding both front and back. The green slopes sharply from back to front, so aim below the hole for a manageable putt.

Hole 14 “Align or Pay the Price”

Though wide open, this long par 5 punishes poor alignment from a tee that points right toward out-of-bounds. Stay left off the tee and on your second shot for the best approach angle.

Hole 15 “Balboa’s Brute”

The course’s toughest hole, this long par 4 doglegs left. A strong right-to-left drive and an approach favoring the green’s left side are key to survival here.

Hole 16 “The Beauty with a Bite”

This pretty par 3 hides plenty of danger. Stay away from the water and bunker on the left—missing right is far more forgiving.

Hole 17 “Hidden Horizon”

The green isn’t visible from the tee on this short par 4. A drive over the hill or down the fairway sets up a good angle, but avoids the left bunkers guarding the green.

Hole 18 “Dare the Water”

A challenging par 4 that tempts you to carry the water. Safer play is to the right fairway, but beware a hidden penalty area near the 150 marker and an elevated, well-protected green.
