Public Safety Intro
Facts About Public Safety in the Village
Public safety is a key consideration for our residents, and Hot Springs Village stands out for its comprehensive, community-focused approach. The Village operates its own police and fire departments, providing dedicated, localized service within one of the largest gated communities in North America. With fewer crimes per capita than many surrounding areas residents benefit from both peace of mind and rapid service when it matters most.
Fire Department
Fire Protection in the Village
Fire protection in the Village is robust and highly responsive. The fire department operates four stations strategically located throughout the community, staffed by a combination of career and volunteer firefighters to ensure full coverage across its large footprint. With more than 28 full-time personnel, the department maintains strong readiness and an impressive response time of under seven and a half minutes. In addition to emergency response, the department is deeply engaged in community outreach through programs like Firewise USA®, smoke alarm assistance, and public education initiatives such as Coffee with a Firefighter that help residents reduce risk and improve home safety. This proactive approach not only protects property but also strengthens the overall resilience of the community.
Police Department

The Hot Springs Village Police Department provides 24/7 coverage with a team of certified officers dedicated to both enforcement and community engagement. With approximately 24 officers and 7 dispatchers serving the community, residents benefit from personalized, highly visible policing. Programs such as the Citizens Police Academy, vacation watch services, Coffee with a Cop, and other initiatives demonstrate a strong commitment to outreach and transparency. Officers respond to both emergency and non-emergency calls quickly, reinforcing a safe and well-monitored environment. With fewer crimes per capita than many surrounding areas and a short response time, residents benefit from both peace of mind and rapid service when it matters most.
Security
Safety + Security in the Village
Security is further enhanced by controlled access points throughout the Village. Two primary manned gates—West Gate (staffed 24/7) and East Gate (staffed daily with restricted overnight access)—provide an added layer of oversight for all visitors entering the community.
In addition, several automated, card-access gates allow residents convenient entry while maintaining security. This gated infrastructure not only helps regulate traffic but also contributes significantly to the Village’s reputation as a safe, secure, and well-managed place to live.
