Lakes
Hot Springs Village includes eleven pristine lakes offering a calm, uncrowded environment for relaxation, nature watching. The lakes offer a variety of fun activities and are exclusive to Village members and their guests. Boating and kayaking on Hot Springs Village lakes provide members and guests with a wide range of recreational opportunities, including fishing, paddling, and enjoying Arkansas’s natural scenery.
Motorized and non-motorized boating is welcome on the major lakes (Balboa, Coronado, DeSoto, Cortez), with designated boat ramps, marinas, and rental slips available.
At 944 acres, Lake Balboa is the largest lake in Hot Springs Village. Located at 476 Ponce de Leon Drive, a hub for lakeside events, picnics, and group activities. Balboa Beach features a sand surface, with six shade shelters and picnic tables available to rent throughout the season, four of which include grills. Located just off neighborhood streets at 26 Seville Lane, DeSoto Beach offers a wide view of Lake DeSoto and sits next to the spillway and the DeSoto Spillway Trail. DeSoto Beach has a pea gravel surface and is equipped with picnic tables and grills.
Each lake has a marina that provides boat, kayak, and paddle board rentals, as well as snacks, fishing gear, and more.
Several lakes, including DeSoto, feature marked trails for kayaking, allowing for longer excursions and scenic paddles through coves, islands, and natural woodlands. Smaller lakes are especially suited for kayaking, canoeing, and relaxation, providing a tranquil experience away from crowds—ideal for birdwatchers and nature.
Members frequently enjoy sunrise/sunset paddles, group outings, or simply exploring the lakeside scenery from their kayaks. Water activities are restricted to members and their guests, keeping lakes less crowded and more accessible for regular recreation. This combination of well-maintained amenities, diverse watercraft options, and natural beauty makes Hot Springs Village an outstanding destination for boating and kayaking throughout the year.
